 
            Josie Toney is a versatile fiddle player, songwriter and performer rooted in old-time traditions. She is in demand as a sideman for major country, folk and bluegrass acts, while also carving her own space as an artist. Her songs bring a modern edge to timeless American sounds. Originally from Olympia, Washington, she now resides in Nashville, Tennessee.
From 2021–2023, Toney toured internationally with Sierra Ferrell, playing fiddle and singing harmony vocals. She has performed on iconic stages including Red Rocks, Newport Folk Festival, Bonnaroo, and the Ryman Auditorium, with tours spanning the U.S., Canada, and Australia. From 2024-Present, she has been on tour with artist Hailey Whitters. They’ve shared the stage with country megastars including Alan Jackson and Luke Combs. She’s also shared the stage with Old Crow Medicine Show, Billy Strings, and Ben Rector.
A graduate of Berklee College of Music, Toney received the Sam Eisenson Award for Country Music. In 2019, she won the FreshGrass Fiddle Championship. She released her debut solo record Extra in 2022 to critical acclaim. She’s planning her next studio album release for Spring 2026.
